Accessing Independence/Independent Living Services

Accessing Independence/Independent Living Services is a nonprofit organization committed to helping people with disabilities, including veterans and the elderly, lead more independent and fulfilling lives. For more than 25 years, we have provided non-medical in-home personal care from our Lancaster and Tamaqua, PA locations. Our goal is to treat those we care for like part of the family.

Today, more than 300 caring and dedicated ILS employees proudly serve seniors and people with disabilities in 11 counties throughout Pennsylvania. Last year alone, Independent Living Services provided over 400,000 hours of direct-care services to more than 2,500 clients, enabling them to live active, independent lives in their own homes.

Recognized as one of the leading in-home care providers in Pennsylvania, we take our commitment to improving people’s lives very seriously, continually creating new and better ways to make a difference and balancing our mission focus with our business focus, so we can help more people with more services.

Independent Living Services is governed by the Accessing Independence Board of Directors. Accessing Independence is a 501 (c) 3 corporation that was incorporated in July 2007 exclusively for charitable and educational purposes to advance the independence of the elderly and people with disabilities.
